| Silicones - Addition Cure
RTVS 61
CLEAR, LOW VISCOSITY RTV SILICONE
DESCRIPTION
RTVS 61 is a low viscosity, self-extinguishing transparent RTV Silicone compound which cures to a water-clear silicones gel. RTVS 61 is used in situations where component identification and vibration shock protection is needed. RTVS 61 can be accelerated to cure by the use of elevated temperature.

MIXING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Weigh out amount of RTVS 61, Part A.
2. Measure into Part A 10 parts of Part B for each 100 parts of Part A.
3. Mix thoroughly, scraping both sides and bottom of container.
4. Pour into cavity or unit. RTVS 61 will de-gas if left undisturbed for 5-10 minutes.
CURE SCHEDULES:
Overnight at room temperature (24 hours at 25°C) or
2 hours at 50°C or
1 hour at 65°C
SPECIAL NOTES:
Certain materials may inhibit the cure of RTVS 61 when placed in contact with the mixed, uncured rubber. Materials such as amines and amine cured epoxies, sulfur containing materials and condensation (tin cured) silicones, are some which may cause inhibition. Even surfaces which have been in contact with such materials may cause it. If in doubt, a patch test should be done.

HEALTH CAUTION:
RTV silicone rubber base compounds and the curing agents for addition cure products are non-hazardous and practically non-toxic. Curing agents for condensation cure products contain tin soaps which can irritate eyes and skin of some individuals. Avoid contact with skin; if contact occurs, wash affected areas at once with soap and water. Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact with eyes, flush with water for 15 minutes; call a physician.
