DESCRIPTION

RTVS 3-165 offers a new dimension in liquid RTV silicone potting materials for high reliability power supplies. RTVS 3-165 was designed to offer an acceptable balance of low viscosity, high thermal conductivity and low thermal coefficient of expansion to accommodate these often conflicting needs of airborne, high voltage, power supplies. The following properties are combined in one product.
Addition cure - for deep sections
Flexibility to - 115°C
Low thermal coefficient of expansion
Reversion resistant
Cure can be heat accelerated
Good thermal conductivity
Low viscosity
Excellent electrical properties
Can be held under vacuum for long periods without inhibiting cure

MIXING INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Pre-mix Part A in original container before withdrawing any material.
2. Measure 100 parts of Part A for each 10 parts of Part B.
3. Mix thoroughly, scraping both the bottom and the sides of mixing container.
4. To ensure void-free castings, evacuate at 29" Hg for 3-4 minutes.
5. Pour into unit or mold.

CURE SCHEDULES:
Overnight at room temperature (24 hours) @25°C, OR 4 hours at 50°C, OR 1 hour at 90°C, OR 15 minutes at 125°C.

SPECIAL NOTES:
Certain materials may inhibit the cure of RTVS 3-165 when placed in contact with the mixed, uncured rubber. Materials such as amines and amine cured epoxies, sulfur containing materials and condensation (tin cured) silicones, are some which may cause inhibition. Even surfaces which have been in contact with such materials may cause it. If in doubt, a patch test should be done.

HANDLING PRECAUTIONS:
RTV silicone rubber base compounds and the curing agents for addition cure products are non-hazardous and practically non-toxic. Curing agents for condensation cure products contain tin soaps which can irritate eyes and skin of some individuals. Avoid contact with skin; if contact occurs, wash affected areas at once with soap and water. Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact with eyes, flush with water for 15 minutes; call a physician.
